Ms. Piper graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Bachelor's of Business Administration (Accounting) degree at which time, Ms. Piper was a member of Beta Alpha Psi, the national honor society for accounting majors. Ms. Piper later earned her juris doctor degree from the William S. Richardson School of Law at the University of Hawaii at Manoa (1997).
Ms. Piper is currently on the board of directors of the Hawaii State Bar Association, where she serves on the board's Finance Committee. She previously served on the board of directors of the Bankruptcy Law Section of the Hawaii State Bar Association and was Treasurer of that section from 2002 to 2004.
